Cookie policyWho is responsible for your data?
ServerKing B.V., Pietersbergweg 291, 1105BM Amsterdam, the Netherlands, registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce (KvK) under number 64641341, is the controller of the personal data described here. Questions and requests about your data go to [email protected].
What do we collect when you visit?
Only what every web request carries. Our web server and Cloudflare, the network provider this site runs behind, receive your IP address, the time, the address you asked for and the type of your browser, and may keep them in logs for security and troubleshooting. That is our legitimate interest in a secure, working site (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)).
We do not use this to follow visitors, and we do not combine it with other data.
What do we measure if you allow it?
If you press «Allow analytics», this site loads Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics from Google Ireland Limited. They set cookies in your browser and send Google the pages you view, how you came to the site, the type of your device and browser, your approximate location and a random identifier. Google Analytics does not store your IP address.
We use this only to see which pages are read and to improve the site, not for advertising, and we do not let Google use it for its own purposes. We process it with your consent (GDPR Article 6(1)(a)). You can withdraw it at any time with «Cookie settings» at the bottom of every page; the site then deletes these cookies and stops loading Google. The cookies are listed in our cookie policy.
What happens to a message you send us?
A message sent with the contact form holds your name, your e-mail address, your company if you give it, and what you write. It is stored on our server with your IP address and the time, and sent by e-mail to [email protected], so that we can answer you and prepare a price.
We process it because you ask us to take steps towards a contract, and because answering business enquiries is our legitimate interest (GDPR Article 6(1)(b) and (f)). We use it for that and nothing else: no newsletters, no profiling, no sale of data.
What do we keep about our customers?
When your business orders from us, we keep the names and business contact details of its contact persons, the agreement, invoices and payments, the names of the people who visit the data centre on its behalf, and the records of the work we do. We need them to perform the agreement and to meet our tax obligations (GDPR Article 6(1)(b) and (c)).
Before we provide any service, we verify the identity of every customer, its directors and its ultimate beneficial owners, as our terms and conditions say. For that we ask for their names, dates of birth, nationality and country of residence, a copy of an identity document, and extracts from the trade register and the register of ultimate beneficial owners, and we check them against sanctions lists. We do this to comply with sanctions law, and because preventing fraud, money laundering and terrorist financing is our legitimate interest (GDPR Article 6(1)(c) and (f)).
Please cover the citizen service number (BSN) on a Dutch identity document before you send us a copy: we do not need it.
Who else handles your data?
Cloudflare, Inc. carries the traffic between you and this site, and our e-mail provider holds the mailbox the form writes to. If you allow analytics, Google processes the data described above. All three process the data on our behalf; where that happens outside the European Economic Area, such as in the United States, it is under the safeguards the GDPR requires: the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
The data centre operator receives the names of the people who visit the data centre for a customer, to let them in, and the bank or payment provider a customer pays through receives what it needs for the payment.
We share personal data with no one else, unless the law obliges us to, for example when a competent authority asks for it.
How long do we keep it?
Google Analytics keeps what it measures for 14 months. The copy of your message on our web server is deleted after 12 months. The e-mail stays in our mailbox for as long as we are in contact about your request; if it leads to a contract, it is kept with that contract's records for the seven years Dutch tax law requires. You can ask us to delete it sooner.
Customer records are kept for the seven years Dutch tax law requires after the agreement ends. Verification records are kept for five years after the end of our relationship with the customer, and then deleted.
What are your rights?
You can ask us for a copy of your personal data, to correct it, to delete it, to restrict what we do with it or to hand it over in a portable form, and you can object to our handling it. Write to [email protected]; we answer within one month.
You can also lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens (autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl).
